Indonesia explores forming a Future Earth national committee
The 6th International Conference of JABODETABEK Study Forum will take place on 29-30 August 2018 in Bogor, Indoensia, on the theme of “Urban-Rural and Upland-Coastal Connectivities in Managing Sustainable Urbanizing World”. Bringing together leading researchers engaged in transdisciplinary research and sustainablity science in the country, the International Conference aims to build a milestone for planning urbanizing world to achieve sustainability by sharing ideas, experiences, and knowledges among various stakeholders including planners, government, researchers, practitioners and students.
Invited as a keynote speaker, Professor Nordin Hasan, Chair of the Regional Committee for the Future Earth in Asia, will introduce the initiative to and have opportunities to interact with potential stakeholders of a prospective Indonesian National Committee for Future Earth. It is expected that the International Conference will mark a step foward to establish a Future Earth National Committee in Indonesia and help enhance collaboration between scientists in the country and the global network for research and innovation.
The 6th International Conference of JABODETABEK Study Forum will be organized by the Center for Regional System Analysis, Planning and Development, Bogor Agricultural University/Institut Pertanian Bogor (CrestPent, IPB).
