Geospatial information and Earth observations – collected at local, national and global levels, and supported by the best science, tools and technologies – are critical to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Workshop addressed the significance of the integration of Earth Observations ― satellite and in-situ data― with socio-economic data to derive information for decision makers in support of the SDGs.

The International Workshop brought together over a hundred of participants worldwide representing a large variety of stakeholders from including the academia, private sector, and intergovernmental organizations to discuss priority areas of interdisciplinary scientific research for the implementation of the SDGs in Asia with particular focus on extreme environmental effects and urban air-pollution in certain nations in Asia.
