Call for abstracts: International Conference on Regional Climate ICRC-CORDEX 2019

Date: October 14, 2019

Send in abstracts by 30 May for the 4th regional climate conference ICRC-CORDEX 2019. The conference, which will take place in Beijing, China, on 14-18 October 2019, will bring together international community on regional climate research to share the latest progress in the regional climate modelling often used for impact and adaptation planning.

The global collaborative initiative “Coordinated Regional Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX)” is a program under the World Climate Research Program (WCRP).  Their vision is to advance and coordinate the science and application of regional climate downscaling through global partnerships. CORDEX aims to develop and provide detailed, regional climate information necessary for vulnerability, impact and adaptation studies at local and regional levels where climate change happens.

Bringing together international community on regional climate research, the International Conference on Regional Climate (ICRC)-CORDEX 2019 will provide a platform to interact with other scientist/stakeholders/users, discuss local challenges and extremes and initiate steps towards respective region’s sustainable approach to climate change. The program will cover topics such as advances in modelling and benefits of downscaling, including biases and uncertainties; further development of earth system models; the human factor and impacts and applications. The conference will also provide a platform for scientists and users from all parts of the globe to meet and advance capacity development, training and knowledge exchange as well as to build new and enhance existing co-operations.

The deadline for abstract submission is 30 May 2019.
