Anil Kulkarni
Distinguished Visiting Scientist, Divecha Centre for Climate Change, Indian Institute of Science
Dr. Kulkarni is one of the leading authorities in the world on Himalayan snow and ice cover. He has made significant contributions to the study of the Himalayan region by conducting snow and glacier investigations using remote sensing methods, glacier mass balance modeling, modeling influence of climate change on distribution of Himalayan snow and glacier extent, and snow and glacier melt runoff modeling. He worked as a Scientist/Engineer at the Space Applications Center in Ahmedabad for thirty years before joining the Indian Institute of Science as a Distinguished Scientist.
