Faten Attig-Bahar is currently completing a PhD in Engineering on the development of solar chimney power plant systems at the Polytechnic School of Tunisia. She is involved in multiple African and International NGOs working on sustainable development, green energy and climate change.She has been a member of the Executive Board of the Young Earth System Scientists (YESS), a community of young scientists and researchers from Earth System research institutions across the globe, with over 1,000 members from more than 85 countries, since 2016. She has also worked as a public relation manager at Green Shift Africa, an organization working on the sustainable development agenda to spur innovations in green technologies and deliver affordable water and energy technology solutions to all Africans.In 2017, she became the Vice President for North Africa for African Youth Union for Change (AYU4C). AYU4C focuses on young leaders from the AfricaLics network who are enrolled in mentoring programs connecting more than 120 African young leaders. The mission is to support voluntary work and networking activities to promote young people in Africa as key drivers for sustainable development and to enhance their participation in policy setting processes towards Africa’s development targets and the The Africa We Want Agenda of the African Union.On the side, she has written more than 13 published books for kids in Arabic, with a further six books due by April 2018. She has been an invited speaker and guest at several Arab and National forums and international books fairs and hopes to inspire the younger generation to build a blooming future and share good spirit.
