Patrick Lacombe

Research Coordinator, Canada

Patrick is the coordinator for the Montreal Hub office. Under guidance from Alyson Surveyor, Montreal Hub Manager and Head of Global Operations, Patrick will coordinate the implementation of the Future Earth’s 2020-2025 strategy while also lending his skills to other relevant projects overseen by the Montreal Hub. Patrick arrives at Future Earth upon completion of his master’s degree in Global Development Studies from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. His research focused on the social sustainability of national park management through public-private partnerships across sub-Saharan Africa. Specifically, his research targeted how public-private partnerships impact both national park management strategies and the livelihoods of rural communities. Previously, he completed his undergraduate degree at Concordia University with a specialization in Geography and a minor in sustainability studies. His previous work in rural Uganda with Montreal based CEED Concordia centered on developing and coordinating the inaugural environmental sustainability project for CEED which has now become a staple of the organization’s internship program in Uganda. On an individual level, Patrick holds particular interests towards environmental conservation, photography, and travel.
