Priyanka Arora

Science Officer

Priyanka Arora has joined Future Earth as a Science Officer. She has been working in the field of environmental research and sustainability for several years, contributing to multiple projects related to GHG emissions reporting, sustainability strategies, air quality monitoring and vehicular emissions. As part of her research, Priyanka has utilized Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) for the structural characterization of soot particles, providing valuable insights into their morphology and impact on air quality. Priyanka has extensive experience in operating and calibrating gaseous and particulate monitoring equipment, enabling precise measurement and analysis of air quality and emissions. Furthermore, she has worked on developing country-specific emission factors, conducting uncertainty analysis for emissions data, and supporting environmental reporting frameworks aligned with international standards. Over the years, Priyanka has collaborated with prestigious research institutions such as the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Queensland University of Technology and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. She has also contributed to policy briefs and sustainability initiatives aimed at enhancing corporate ESG practices. Priyanka has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed journal papers and presented her research at national and international conferences. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, an M.Tech in Materials Engineering from IIT Roorkee, and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology. During her master's, she was awarded the prestigious DAAD fellowship, which allowed her to conduct research at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, for seven months. Beyond her professional endeavours, Priyanka is passionate about integrating data-driven sustainability solutions into policy and industry practices. Beyond her professional pursuits, Priyanka finds joy in reading, cooking, and taking leisurely walks.
