Rebecca Oliver
Senior Engagement & Dialogue Lead, Stockholm
Rebecca is Senior Engagement and Dialogue lead at the Sweden Hub of Future Earth, based at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. With a background in both the private sector and civil society, Rebecca’s work is focused at the interface between research and society. Prior to Future Earth, Rebecca was Project Director with the Tällberg Foundation, building relationships and designing and facilitating dialogues with some of the world’s foremost experts and decision makers in many sectors, to enrich both understanding and action around the challenges that the world is facing, social, political and environmental. Before the Tällberg Foundation, Rebecca was responsible for issues and crisis management and training, and for ensuring responsible product innovation while working with European external affairs at the multinational Unilever. This gave her insight into the reality global industry faces in recognizing and addressing demands to change course. Rebecca is a strategic systems thinker, making use of a background both in the natural sciences and industry (pharmaceuticals, healthcare and fast moving consumer goods) to work towards large systems change. Rebecca joined the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2013 to create the Swedish Hub of the Distributed Global Secretariat of the Future Earth initiative with offices in Sweden, Japan, USA, France and Canada.
