International Conference on Sustainable Cities, Communities and Partnerships for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Prof. Emeritus Dr. Mohd Nordin Hasan, Institute for Environment and Development, National University of Malaysia and Chair, Regional Advisory Committee for Future Earth in Asia, will be speaking and organizing a forum on Translating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) For Sustainable City, at the International Conference on Sustainable Cities, Communities and Partnerships for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) taking place in Kuala Lumpur from 5-7 October, 2017. The keynote speech and the forum are scheduled for the second day of the conference.

The Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI) is the lead organiser, in collaboration with Yayasan Bank Rakyat and Perbadanan Putrajaya, for this INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SUSTAINABLE CITIES, COMMUNITIES AND PARTNERSHIPS FOR DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs). The conference aims to provide a platform for practitioners, researchers, industry representatives, community groups and individuals from Malaysia and abroad to share and discuss global sustainability issues, in particular adding value to the current conversation on sustainable cities, to help identify and shape options and measures that can help realise the SDGs aspirations. It will also provide a venue for undergraduate and postgraduate candidates to interact with experts and thought leaders to enrich their learning and build their capacity. This Conference will also include school going children, in an effort to expose them to the current discussion and approaches taken today that will shape their future.

All accepted papers will published in a Conference proceeding, subject to editorial requirements being met, and distributed to participants. Papers identified to be of high quality and great relevancy will be selected for publication in indexed journals.
